A short walk in a rainy afternoon

This is a short walk in a rainy afternoon that begins at the Puerta de Madrid, progressing down Cardinal Sandoval y Rojas street, where you can see the Walled enclosure to the right and then the Archbishop’s Palace.

Then turn right to enter San Juan Street, right where you can see the Casa de la Entrevista. At the end of the street is seen through the rain the majestic facade of the Magisterial Cathedral.

Turn left right next to the Tourist Information Office at Santos Niños square, then the Casa Tapón and just after the beginning of calle Mayor. But as it is a pedestrian street, turn right to enter the parallel street, calle Escritorios.

Passing by through the arcades, on the right, you will go through Agustinas Convent, while on the left, you will see the façade of the old Irlandeses School. Continuing by the same street—which changes its name to Santa Úrsula’s— Carmelitas Descalzas School is located on the left, todayfaculty of Architecture, and arriving to plaza de Cervantes, on the right side, there is Santa Úrsula Convent. In front of the convent, on the corner of the square, Manchegos School can be found.

At the end of the street we can see the Capilla del Oidor, where you’ll find the font where he Miguel de Cervantes was baptized, and finally visit a magnificent tower, torre de Santa María.

Continue straight ahead to enter calle Colegios. The first thing to appreciate is Colegio de Málaga to the right, and then we can see the Hostería del Estudiante left and the Parador de Turismo de Alcalá right. The trip ends a little later in puerta de Aguadores, but not before seing the beautiful Carmelitas de Afuera square, which houses the convent of the same name.
